West Bradford Partnership started in September 2001, based at Thornton Grammar School & Sports College. The Partnership has made great progress over the last few years, with recent years' PESSYP figures showing that 80% of young people aged 5 - 16 years being involved in a minimum of 2 hours high quality PE and school sport. 35% of pupils have taken part in inter-school sport during recent school years.
The partnership is funded as part of the PE & Sport Strategy for Young People by a core grant from the Department of Children, Families and Schools. We have received substantial Big Lottery funding over the last few years which has allowed us to offer a wide range of events, facilities and equipment with the key focus of this being on out-of-school-hours sports related activities. Our activity is supported by the national charitable organisation, the Youth Sport Trust (www.youthsporttrust.org) .
This website is designed for use by pupils, staff, parents and partner organisations alike, providing news, updates, information and links to a variety of other useful sites. Please feel free to contact us on 885505 or email Carole on cmm@thorntongs.ngfl.ac.uk with any thoughts, news or queries.
